Add steps, forms and pop-ups to your funnel
Every funnel starts with three steps: the sales page, the checkout and the thank-you page. You can add your own pages between them, ask your visitors for their details with a form, and show pop-ups (small windows that open over a page).
Add a page to your funnel
Section titled “Add a page to your funnel”-
In the left menu, open Funnels, then click Funnel on the card of your funnel. Its overview opens on the Steps tab.
-
Click the + between two steps, then choose Blank page (an empty page you build block by block) or Sales page (a blank page with the ready sections at hand). A sales page only goes before the checkout. The page is added right away.
-
Click Edit on the new step to design it in the editor (see Design your sales page with the block editor).
You can also add a page from the editor: click the + between two steps in the steps bar at the top. There, the new page is saved with the rest when you click Save.
Each added page has its own address, after the address of your sales page. On the funnel overview, its ••• menu lets you Rename it, Change the address, Duplicate it or Delete it. In the editor’s steps bar, the ••• menu offers the same choices, with Page address for the address and Delete this page to delete it. To change the order, drag a step by its handle (the six dots): the sales page stays first, and the thank-you page stays last.
To send visitors to the page that follows, set a button’s On click menu to Next step of the funnel. After the checkout, the + also offers Upsell and Downsell, one-click offers of the Business plan (see Add a one-click upsell or downsell).
Add a pop-up
Section titled “Add a pop-up”-
In the editor, click Pop-ups at the right of the steps bar, then + Add a pop-up.
-
A sign-up pop-up opens in the middle of the editor, in your page colors: a title, a short text and an email form. Change it like a page: click a text to edit it, add blocks, check the Mobile view.
-
Click an empty spot around the pop-up (or Pop-up settings at the top) to see its settings in the right panel. Under Template, you can switch to Exit offer (with a button to the checkout) or Announcement. A template replaces the content of the pop-up, and the undo arrow brings it back.
-
Under When to show it, choose Automatically, after a few seconds (0 opens it as soon as the page opens), Once the visitor has scrolled the page, When the visitor wants to leave the page or Only when a button is clicked.
-
Under How often, choose Once per visit, Once a day or Every page view. Under Closing, choose whether visitors can close it with the close button (×) or a click outside. The Escape key also closes it on a computer.
-
Click Test the pop-up to see it exactly as your visitors will. Nothing is saved and the form sends nothing. Close the preview brings you back.
-
Click Back to the page, then Save. Your pop-up goes live only when you save.
To open a pop-up from a button, select the button, set On click to Open a pop-up, then pick it under Pop-up to open (or + Create a pop-up). That button always opens it, whatever How often says.
Collect emails with a form
Section titled “Collect emails with a form”The Email capture block saves your visitor in Contacts and starts your New contact automations. Every new pop-up already has one.
-
In the editor, open the Blocks tab of the left panel and click Email capture, in the Sales section.
-
Click the block in the page. In the right panel, under Form fields, set each field: First name, Last name, Email and Phone number. For each one, choose Show and Required, and change its Label and Placeholder text (the hint shown inside the empty field). The email is always shown and required.
-
Under After sending, choose what happens next: Next step of the funnel, A link, or A message.
-
Under Tag added to the contact, pick a tag if you want one (see the Automations tab of your funnel to start an automation from it).
-
Click Save.
To ask more questions, add these blocks from the same Sales section, in the same section of the page as your Email capture block (or in the same pop-up), above it:
- Checkbox: with the Marketing consent role, a ticked box means the contact agrees to get your emails. If it replaces the consent box of the form, turn on Hide the built-in consent checkbox in the Email capture block. With Simple checkbox, the yes or no is saved on the contact. A checkbox is never ticked in advance.
- Custom field: a question with a Short text or Long text answer. Under Contact field, pick where to save the answer, or + New field to create one.
The right panel tells you if a field isn’t linked to any form. The phone number accepts digits, spaces and a + at the start. You find every answer on the contact’s card in Contacts, and in the contacts export.
