Emails sent to your buyers
Shoplit sends some emails to your buyers for you, with nothing to set up. You don’t write them, but you choose the name they come from, where replies go, and their language.
The emails your buyers get
Section titled “The emails your buyers get”- Delivery: right after a purchase or a free download. Its subject is “Here is your access to” followed by the product name, or just “Here is your access” when the order includes an order bump. Its button opens the buyer’s order page, where they download their files or open their course. An offer accepted after the purchase comes in its own email.
- Payment failed: when the bank refuses a payment at checkout. It tells the buyer they haven’t been charged and gives them a link to try again.
- Refund confirmation: when you refund an order.
- Course access: when you add a student to a video course yourself, or when a student asks for a new access link in your course space. A student who forgot their password gets a link to choose a new one.
- Access recovery: when a buyer asks for all their purchases again on the Shoplit order page. This one comes from “Shoplit”, because it can list purchases from several sellers.
A buyer lost their delivery email? Open their contact in Marketing > Contacts and click Resend access. See Collect emails and find your contacts.
Who the emails come from
Section titled “Who the emails come from”- The name: your Display name, at the top of the email and in its signature. Without a display name, it’s the name you typed when you signed up.
- The address: a Shoplit address, the same for every seller. You can’t change it. The footer of the email says “Sent via Shoplit.io”.
- The replies: when a buyer clicks Reply, the message goes to your Public contact email. If you left it empty, it goes to the email of your Shoplit account.
To change the name and the reply address:
-
In the left menu, click Settings. The Profile & Account tab opens.
-
In the My storefront card, type the name your buyers should see in Display name: your name or your brand.
-
In Public contact email, type the address where you want to get your buyers’ replies. It’s also shown on your thank-you page.
-
Click Save.
Only the next emails change: the emails already sent keep the old name. You can also change your Display name in My storefront, section Profile. See Set up your storefront.
The language of the emails
Section titled “The language of the emails”The emails follow the Page language of the sales page your buyer bought from, English or French. The same setting gives the language of their checkout, their thank-you page and their order page. Change it in the settings of the sales page, General tab. See Choose your ebook’s language and length. The course access email follows the language of the course. The email a student gets to choose a new password follows the language of their browser.
What you can’t change
Section titled “What you can’t change”The text of these emails is the same for every seller: you can’t edit it, add your logo or turn an email off. To send your own emails to your buyers (those who are Subscribed), send an email campaign or set up an automation in Marketing (Pro and Business plans). They have their own sender name and address, on your own domain, set in Settings > Email Marketing.
