Create discount codes

A promo code gives your customers a discount when they type it at checkout. Promo codes are available on every plan.

  1. In the left menu, open Products > Promotions, then click New code.

  2. In Code, type the code your customers will enter, for example WELCOME10. It’s saved in capital letters, and your customers can type it in lowercase.

  3. In Discount type, choose Percentage (%) and type a number from 1 to 100, or choose Fixed amount, type the amount and pick its Currency: Euro (€) or US dollar ($). Your display currency is picked by default.

  4. If you want, limit the use of the code: in Total limit, type the maximum number of times it can be used, by all your customers together. Leave it empty for no limit. You can also set an Expiry date: the code stops working from that day.

  5. In Scope, keep All my products, or choose Selected sales pages and tick the pages the code works on. To discount an ebook or a course, tick the sales page that sells it.

  6. Click Create code.

Your codes are listed on the Promo codes page, with their discount, their scope, how many times they were used, the revenue they generated (in your display currency) and their expiry date.

  • The switch on a code turns it off or back on. A code that’s off shows Disabled and stops working at checkout.
  • Edit opens the code’s settings again.
  • The trash icon deletes the code for good.

On your checkout, your customer clicks I have a promo code (or finds the Promo code field already shown), types the code and clicks Apply. The discount is taken off the whole order, order bump included.

If the code is unknown, expired, turned off, used up, not valid for this page, or a fixed amount on a product sold in another currency, your customer sees Invalid, expired or non-applicable code.

You can see how much your codes took off in Analytics > Sales, under Discounts granted.
